Hawaii is an archipelago located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean that makes up one of the island states of the United States. With a total population of 1,211,537 inhabitants, this group of islands represents one of the most important tourist destinations in Polynesia. A little history of Hawaii
The first inhabitants of these islands were Polynesian colonizers who arrived on the island by catamarans, although there are no records of the exact date of this conquest. However, there are no records of conquest, it was only a trip that helped the peninsular to know the location and record it on their maps. Two centuries would pass until the existence of the Spanish colonizers on the island was proven.
In 1810 the Hawaiian Islands were ruled by Kamehameha I, in a government that was under British protection. Its flag resembled that of The United Kingdom. It could be said that this was one of the few peaceful conquests that can be awarded to the British crown; so much so that in 1820, during the mandate of Kamehameha II, the missionaries were allowed entry and all the leaders left their religion to accept the new religion that came from England. In this way, in a few years, Protestant Christianity spread throughout the island and the ancient religion of the natives was lost. Years later, in 1874, Hawaii signed a treaty with the United States that allowed the right to trade in exclusive concession with the United States. This considerably boosted the island's industry: there was an impressive growth in its agriculture, which led to an increase in job offers that brought with it the arrival of a migratory wave from Asia that would considerably change the idiosyncrasy of the island.
In 1893, after numerous political conflicts between the United States and Hawaii, the monarchy was abolished and the archipelago became a new United States state. To this day, its political organization is governed by American standards.
